Built in 1928, the Young’s Gap Hotel was one of the most innovative hotels in the entire Catskill region. It housed a barbershop, ballroom, gymnasium, indoor pool, and much more. For decades it thrived as a popular vacation spot, even being the setting for the 1950 film, Catskill Honeymoon. Sadly, by 1967 it would be closed. As the first of the large hotels to go out of business, its closure signaled the end of the Golden Age of the Catskills resort industry.
