This abandoned Greek Revival hotel in White Lake, New York is one of the oldest standing remnants of the Catskill resort industry. Wealthy businessmen from New York City originally had the hotel built in 1848, during which time, visitors would reach the hotel by stagecoach from Monticello. The White Lake Mansion House become a popular and fashionable summer resort for decades and was even leased to P.T. Barnum’s ringmaster for a time. Its popularity eventually faded alongside the rest of the Catskill resort industry. Since 2010, there have been tentative plans to raze the hotel and build a new resort on the site
