Beehive charcoal kilns, closed since 1829
These ruins in the Dutchess County town of Wassaic, New York are the remains of the Reed, Gridley & Co. Iron Works charcoal kilns. The charcoal made in the pits was used to fire the Gridley Blast Furnace.
