Where

This historic house in Kingston, New York was built in 1811 and was the home of Rachel DuMont. DuMont was the subject of Rachel DuMont: A Brave Little Maid of the Revolution, a book penned by her ancestor that recounts her deeds during the Burning of Kingston. DuMont married Lieut Tjerck Beekman, a captain in the Revolutionary War. DuMont’s 1811 house is one of the Stockade District’s oldest post and beam constructions.
