Overlooking Catskill Landing once stood the impressive Prospect Park Hotel. Hailed as a “pioneer among modern summer hostelries,” the hotel was once a popular and lavish stopping point for travelers coming up the Hudson by steamboat. In 1908, the hotel was sold to the Franciscans and in 1914, it burned to the ground. Today, the site is marked by St. Anthony’s Friary.
