This historic landmark in Albany, New York was built between 1867 and 1899 for $25 million dollars, making it the most expensive government building of its time. A number of the era’s greatest architects worked on this state capitol building, including Thomas Fuller, Leopold Eidlitz, Henry Hobson Richardson, and Isaac G. Perry. This masterpiece of 19th-century architecture incorporates a number of styles, including Romanesque Revival and Neo-Renaissance. Today, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a designated National Historic Landmark.
